The Romeo and Juliet Code by Phoebe Stone is one of my all-time favorite books. This book is a mystery that touches on family dysfunction, the war, and a first crush.

Felicity is an eleven-year-old girl who is in the middle of a family crisis. She has been dropped off with her Uncle Gideon, whom she has never met. Uncle Gideon is getting coded letters from Felicity's father. Felicity feels it is her duty to solve the mystery of the coded letters to save her family. Upstairs, there is a handsome, mysterious boy who never leaves his room. When Facility writes a letter to the boy explaining her thoughts on how to solve the codes the boy surprises her. He tells her that he might be able to help. Felicity and the boy, Captain Derek, set out to discover the secrets of the coded letters. Little did they know that solving the code wouldn't reveal all the family secrets.

I love this book and I think I have read and reread it about 5 times. In this story, lots of things happen that surprise me. It is a good thing there was another book after this one or I would have been so upset. I have lots of questions and thoughts about what happened in this book and If you have read the book and have thoughts and questions to comment and tell me. I would love to chat with you.
