cheap books

EVERY BOOK LOVER NEEDS TO READ THIS POST!!

Books can be so expensive!! They don't have to be though. What if I told you there are books out there that you can buy from .50 to a $1. Have I gotten your attention yet? You might be asking where? how? and might be thinking the books must be in poor condition. I'm going to answer your questions and address your concerns.

1. Where are these books?   THRIFT STORES!! Yep, thrift stores have tons and tons of books for cheap!! These books are not nasty or beat up either they are actually really nice. I get most of my books from thrift stores because why would I want to spend $10 or $11 on just one book when I can get 20 books for the same price.

2. What if there are no thrift stores where I live? Easy, if there are no thrift stores where you live this website is what you need. Click on the link and you can get 15% off of your first purchase!!!  Now the books are $3.49 and up instead of $1, but if you spend $10 or more you get free shipping. There is also a point-earning system. For every book, you purchase you get points. When you get 500 points you get a free book OF YOUR CHOICE ($5 or less)!! It didn't take me long to get 500 points and you get some point when you first sign up. The site also does some bonus points occasionally.

HERE IS A TIP!!! Try to find book sets or anthologies and then you get more for your one because many times they are still $3.49. For example, I bought The Summer I turned Pretty by: Jenny Hann (which I will be reviewing soon) for $3.49 and the book contained all three stories in one book. I have bought multiple books like this and it's way cheaper than buying all of the books separately. Also, this website is very reliable and safe, so don't be afraid to use it.

3. So the books are used but are in good condition? Yes, the books are used but no they are not ripped or written on most of the time. A few of my books were former library books but still in great shape and a couple had personal messages from the gift-giver or a name inside but that has compromised the condition of the pages inside. Many thrift stores I go to don't put out beat-up books. Why would they? Nobody would buy them. I will tell you that honestly these thrift stores are so clean and well organized that sometimes it blows my mind.

The picture below is of a thrift store close to me. The books are very organized and they have a whole YA section. Many thrift stores I go to aren't as organized but I almost always leave with an armload of books. I sure have missed frequenting my local thrift stores during the Covid-19 quarantine. Good thing I have a good stock of books :)

  1. You can get some really amazing deals on second hand books, even if you don't have a great second hand bookstore locally you can get some books for a tenth of their full price if you buy them second hand online. It's great to support the smaller independent stores where possible though! x

    2. I know, I really don't care if they're brand new, that doesn't matter to me. As long as they aren't in TERRIBLE condition its fine with me. :)
