The Last Song by: Nicholas Sparks

The Last Song

By: Nicholas Sparks

I had no idea that the Last Song was a book. I thought it was just a movie until one day my mom and I went book shopping and I found it. The Last Song is literally one of my favorite movies of all time. So when I found the book I was so excited. The book includes many things that the movie doesn't and it explains what the characters are feeling better.

Ronnie and her brother are sent to stay with there father for the summer but Ronnie wants nothing to do with her father. After her parents divorced she has ignored her father and has been hanging around with the wrong people. Initially, Ronnie rejects her father's attempts to reach out to her, stays out late, and threatens to go back home to New York. Then she meets Will. Will makes Ronnie feel happy and safe. He explains things in a way that makes her see things differently in life. Then Ronnie finds out Will has a secret that could change everything between she and her father. After uncovering the secret Ronnie learns a lot about herself and about how she could and should have done things differently.

I recommend this book to ages 13 and up cause some kids under that age might not be interested and it's more of a teen book. There is no cussing in the book or the movie so that is a plus.

  1. I saw the movie but, I have yet to read the book! Nicholas Sparks books are always fun to read so, I can't wait to read this one. Have you read or seen any other Nicholas Sparks books or movies?

    1. I have seen A Walk To Remember, Dear John, and the Last Song. I think the Last Song is the only book that I have read though. I love his work and will probably read more of his books.
